We are recruiting for Nordea Asset Management (NAM) that is the asset management arm of the Nordea Group, looking for a Senior Credit Analyst to support the credit risk management of the trading counterparty segment.


The role is based in Portugal, Lisbon, with effective management from Copenhagen..


This is an opportunity for you to exercise your analytical skills in both quantitative and qualitative analysis, to get in-depth insight in global financials and to grow your competencies in an innovative, multicultural and entrepreneurial environment

You’ll join Middle Office Risk Analysis team, where we risk assess over 200 financial entities with proprietary rating models, monitor financial news and regulations, spot credit trends and early credit risk warnings, write credit risk analysis and provide recommendations to Investments regarding the credit risk of our trading counterparties.


Your overall responsibilities:


  • To understand internal credit risk models and credit risk assessment process
  • To make credit risk assessments of counterparty segment
  • To follow, understand and act on changes in regulation/market trends/credit risk relevant events
  • To monitor daily financial news/CDS movements/rating movements/Country ratings
  • To spot credit risk and initiate the actions (analysis, case- escalations)
  • To write “in-depth” credit risk analysis and recommendations
  • To plan and coordinate timely risk assessments
  • To maintain documentation and routine descriptions
  • To be a local coordinator


If you have experience in


  • Master Degree in a quantitative subject such as Finance or Economics
  • At least 4 years’ experience as a credit risk analyst
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of credit risk and regulations for Financial Institutions is an advantage
  • Good knowledge in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
  • Good in written and spoken English is a requirement
  • First class communication, organizational, time management and coordination skills
  • Self-starter able to work autonomously in an ever-growing environment
  • Team oriented person with strong interpersonal skills: enthusiastic and positive personality, curious, attentive to detail, hard-working, committed, and collaborative
