Senior Accountant - Team Lead

Our Client is building a fast-growing organization and is looking for a Senior Accounting - Team Lead

Key Responsibilities:  

• Lead the implementation, configuration, and optimization of ERP systems in a manufacturing context, including testing modules, mapping business processes, migrating data, and training teams to ensure seamless integration of financial and operational data;
• Design, develop, and implement comprehensive accounting processes and procedures tailored to manufacturing operations, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), internal controls, and continuous improvement initiatives in line with GAAP/IFRS and SOX compliance (if applicable);
•  Establish and manage cost center structures, including defining cost centers, allocating overheads, setting up cost drivers, and maintaining hierarchies to enable precise cost tracking, reporting, and analysis across production departments;
• Oversee cost accounting functions, including standard cost development, BOM/routing maintenance, inventory valuation (standard, actual, FIFO/LIFO), overhead rate calculations, and variance analysis (material, labor, overhead);
• Oversee investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for production, material, and overhead variances; collaborate with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve issues;
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation with focus on manufacturing costs, gross margins, and COGS;
• Prepare and analyze management reports, including daily/weekly production reports, monthly gross margin analysis by product/customer/job, cost forecasts, budgets, and ad-hoc analyses to support strategic decision-making;
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses for process changes, product designs, capital expenditures, and manufacturing improvements; identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains;
• Manage inventory accounting, including cycle counts, physical inventories, obsolescence reserves, and reconciliation of book-to-physical adjustments;
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to accounting staff; collaborate cross-functionally to align financial processes with production goals. Lead accounting department and collaborate with ERP Master Data Specialist.

Profile:

• Professional certification: Certified Public Accountant;
• Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in cost accounting within a manufacturing/production environment;
• Proven hands-on experience leading or significantly contributing to ERP system implementations (full lifecycle preferred) in a manufacturing setting, including process mapping, configuration, testing, go-live support, and post-implementation optimization.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and documenting accounting processes, internal controls, and SOPs for manufacturing operations;
• Direct experience designing and implementing cost center structures, including allocation methodologies, overhead application, and multi-level cost hierarchies;
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting principles: standard costing, variance analysis (purchase price, usage, rate, efficiency), BOMs/routings, labor/overhead absorption, and inventory management;
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems;
• Fluency in english.
