Wyser, a company within GI Group Holding, is a global player in Recruitment and Selection for Management & Leadership positions.

Our client is an Innovator‑recognised RegTech company that is establishing its presence in Portugal, specifically in Porto, and is currently hiring a Finance Manager.

This professional will be responsible for leading the finance function in Portugal: building the finance department from the ground up, owning all accounting and statutory compliance, and reporting directly to the Group CFO. He will also play a central role in business planning, Portuguese and EU grant funding, and collaborating with the engineering team on the financial data infrastructure behind the company’s platform.

This is a fully remote and international position.


Main Responsabilities:

  • Full financial accounting — GL, month‑end close, P&L, balance sheet, and cash‑flow management;
  • Monthly Board Pack preparation and management accounts for the Group CFO and Board;
  • SaaS revenue recognition under IFRS 15 — subscription revenue, deferred income, ARR/MRR;
  • Portuguese tax compliance — IRC, IVA, SAF‑T PT, payroll, Segurança Social;
  • Grant funding strategy and applications — Portugal 2030, PRR, Horizon Europe;
  • Intercompany reconciliation and preparation of a clean consolidation pack for the Group;
  • Billing data reconciliation in collaboration with the engineering team;
  • Accounting system implementation from scratch (Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or equivalent).


Profile:

  • Professional accounting qualification — ACCA, CIMA, ACA/ICAEW, CPA or equivalent;
  • 10–12 years post‑qualification experience, including senior or standalone finance leadership;
  • Deep hands‑on knowledge of Portuguese tax and statutory requirements — SNC, IRC, IVA, SAF‑T;
  • SaaS or technology sector experience (mandatory!) — subscription revenue, deferred income, unit economics;
  • Proven track record in building business plans and financial models to investor standard;
  • Experience with Portuguese or EU grant programmes (IAPMEI, Portugal 2030, Horizon Europe) is a strong plus;
  • Ability to implement accounting systems from scratch;
  • Fluent English and Portuguese — both essential.
